Social networking with mobile broadband access is hitting big waves, with data from research firm ABI Research indicating MySpace and Facebook are the most popular networks for mobile users.
Social networking with mobile broadband access is hitting big waves, with data from research firm ABI Research indicating MySpace and Facebook are the most popular networks for mobile users.
Research reveals over 46% of social network users have visited those sites on a mobile phone, while of that group, 70% visit MySpace and 67% visit Facebook. No other social networking site gained above 15% of users from mobile broadband.
The study also shows 50% of respondents check comments and messages from friends on their phones, while 45% post “status updates”.
Social networking is still growing, with Facebook traffic up 50% since last year, according to online marketing firm Hitwise, while MySpace still dominates with 67% of the social networking market.
