The latest developer build of Apple’s iOS5 software has been made available and brings with it a number of long-requested features including custom text tones.
The feature has been available on jail-broken iPhones and on mobile phones for several years but until now users have only been able to use tones that came with the device.
Developers have reported that the software makes the phone faster and there is now a feature to ensure users don’t switch to “roaming” networks for voice and data coverage.
The software will come with new features for location services, allowing users more control over individual apps.
iOS5 is set to be release in a few months’ time.
