One telecommunications analyst believes businesses will swap their laptops for iPad-style tablets within just five years.
Comscentre managing director Ben Shipley said in a statement yesterday that the tablet will eventually become part of the corporate world and be a vital piece of business.
“This is no fad. We see the iPad as the next generation or replacement in computing for business use,” Shipley said. “iPads or similar tablet devices will replace laptops within four to five years.”
“With other big names like Cisco and HP planning to release their own versions specially designed for business, the popularity of tablet devices will only grow and the notepad will go the same way we have seen desktop computers go from homes and offices.”
Shipley says while tablets are fairly new and featureless, they will get better, along with new security products which will allow businesses to use them every day.
