The Apple manager accused of receiving bribes from Asian manufacturing companies has pleaded not guilty in a San Francisco court, Information Week reports.
Phil Devine has pleaded his innocence in the San Jose District Court. This comes after a grand jury indicted Devine along with an alleged accomplice last week on 23 counts of fraud, money laundering and other charges.
A civil lawsuit has also been charged by Apple.
It is being alleged Devine took bribes from these Asian companies in return for confidential information, which these companies then used to obtain favourable contracts with Apple.
“Apple is committed to the highest ethical standards in the way we do business,” the tech giant said in a statement. “We have zero tolerance for dishonest behaviour inside or outside the company.”
