A new report from IDC predicts the take-up of mobile broadband in the US will continue at a fast pace through 2014.
The new report states that in the past 18 months, networks have taken “significant steps” towards broadening the market outside of regular customers.
It also states the market will reach 30.2 million subscribers in 2014, equating to an annual growth rate of 36.1%.
Carrie MacGillivray, program manager of mobility services at IDC, said in a statement that new developments such as 4G networks “spur interest among the consumer segment about the power of mobile broadband as a secondary access method beyond wired”.
