American travel website TripAdvisor has created a new service designed to integrate with Facebook so users can receive travel tips with friends.
“We revolutionised travel planning 10 years ago when we created the site, the next major leap forward is to get advice from your friends,” founder Steve Kaufer told The Age.
The site itself uses tips on airlines, hotels and restaurants generated by users. The TripAdvisor Trip Friends uses social networking to integrate that service with a Facebook profile.
“After offering the wisdom of the crowds, TripAdvisor Trip Friends will offer the wisdom of friends,” Kaufer said. “It’s like asking a friend for a plumber.”
