Ever wondered how much your friends spend on their iPhones? Well, a survey by apps company AppsFire has found the average owner spends $US80 on apps for their iPhones.
Multiply this by the 45 million owners across the globe (and adjust for the 7% of users who prefer to only use free apps) and the market is worth a whopping US$3.3 billion, the company says.
AppsFire arrived at these figures by scanning data on the phones of 1,200 customers. Half of the customers lived in the US, with the others mostly located in the UK, France and Japan.
On average, each customer paid for 65 applications, at a cost of $US1.56 each. But just over half of apps – 54% – were paid for, with the others downloaded for free.
