One of the nine? Over 250 bent Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus smartphones reported as Bendgate rages on

Apple’s Bendgate scandal continues to cause headaches for the tech giant, with a website documenting bent iPhones counting more than 250 reports of bent iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices.

Apple is still refusing to officially acknowledge a design flaw with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, with its sole statement on the subject stating that only nine people complained about a bent iPhone during its first six days on sale.

However, Oneofthenine, a website collecting reports of bent iPhones 6 and 6 Pluses from social media sites and message boards, has so far collected 252 examples of the devices, which feature an aluminium shell, bending during ordinary use.

According to one post on the site, Apple Store staff in Hong Kong privately acknowledged “they had had many bent iPhone 6 and 6 Plus returned for bending” but had “also sold a lot of phones”.

“Asked whether a bent phone would be seen as my fault and one of them said that unless they get told that it is an official problem from Apple then it would be seen as my fault and not covered by warranty,” the post states.

The latest news comes a week after a man in Arizona reportedly burned his leg after his iPhone 6 bent, puncturing the battery.
