Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 enterprise resource planning software update unveiled

Microsoft has unveiled its Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 enterprise resource planning software during a conference in Atlanta.

Microsoft Dynamics AX is an integrated suite of business management software, with modules covering a range of tasks including supply chain management, human resources, manufacturing and finances.

In the latest version of the software, unveiled during the tech giant’s Microsoft Dynamics Convergence 2014 conference, the company announced the introduction of a new end-to-end apps and services framework making it easier to develop and distribute mobile apps that connect with Microsoft Dynamics AX.

The new version also introduces the ability to deploy Microsoft Dynamics AX through the company’s Azure cloud hosting service.

The company also released a Forrester TEI (Total Economic Impact) study it commissioned, demonstrating how the software has a three year ROI of 92%, a payback period of 21 months and benefits of over $US6 million.

During the conference, Microsoft Business Solutions executive vice president Kirill Tatarinov says technology is increasingly important in allowing businesses in deliver meaningful customer interactions.

“Technology has changed the social fabric, transforming how we engage, connect and interact with one another,” Tatarinov said.

“In this era of the customer, experience is the new currency. Microsoft is best positioned to help businesses deliver amazing experiences for people at work and on the go.”

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is expected to be released in May.

Microsoft Dynamics also announced it expects to launch an updated version of its customer relationship management software, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, during the second quarter of 2014.
