LG has announced it will launch its low- to mid-range third generation L Series smartphones in Australia next month.
The range was initially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress trade show back in February, alongside the company’s flagship LG G Pro 2 phablet.
It includes the low-end L40, which includes a 3.5-inch screen and 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, the L70 with a 4.5-inch screen, and the L90 with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 4.7-inch screen.
The L70 will be launched in early May and the L70 will be released in June. While there is no current launch date for the L90, the company is promising more devices from the range will be announced in the third quarter of 2014.
Key features of the new devices include LG’s Knock Code unlocking system and a feature called Plug and Pop, which suggests apps to run when users connect different accessories.
The company is also releasing Quick Windows cases that include a see-through window allowing users to see messages when their phone cover is closed.
In a statement, LG Electronics Australia general manager of marketing, Lambro Skropidis, says the new devices will deliver an up-to-date experience
“Consumers needs and desires have been at the core of the design process for the L Series 3, LG’s latest offering. From the inclusion of the Android 4.4 KitKat to the standout design and the suite of LG software features, we are confident we have created great products that our consumers will love.”
The company says pricing, carriers and launch dates will be announced shortly.
