Windows 8 “bug plagued” a month before launch, Intel CEO reportedly tells staff

Intel CEO Paul Otellini has reportedly warned staff in Taiwan that Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system is being released before it’s ready, according to reports.

Bloomberg reports that Otellini’s comments were made during a private meeting with staff, according to an attendee at the event.

However, both Microsoft and Intel are downplaying suggestions that Windows 8 is “bug plagued” a month before release.

“With over 16 million active preview participants, Windows 8 is the most tested, reviewed and ready operating system in Microsoft’s history,” says Microsoft spokesperson Mark Martin.

“Windows represents a tremendous opportunity for our business and we’re looking forward to working with Microsoft on enabling a host of new experiences on a variety of devices,” says Intel spokesperson Laura Anderson.
