A Northern Territory public servant has accumulated a $200,000 bill by downloading movies on to his Government-subsidised phone.
The public servant, who has resigned, is allegedly now under investigation by police. However, he has taken the phone’s SIM card with him.
The Northern Territory News is reporting the bill was accumulated within a month, and the investigation started after the first bill’s arrival following the man’s resignation.
While the Government has said the man is not a senior public servant, it is investigating to determine the exact amount of debt incurred.
