Samsung are planning to take on Google in the web browser market, according to reports in the Korean press.
Korea IT News reports that Samsung’s US-based Advanced Software Platform Lab in Silicon Valley has scouted a number of professional web browser developers and has already begun development on the new browser.
Samsung have reportedly chosen Webkit as the basis for the new mobile web browser.
Webkit, originally forked from KDE’s KHTML framework, also forms the basis of Google Chrome and Apple Safari.
