RIM to cut 10% of workforce

Troubled BlackBerry marker Research In Motion is set to cut 2,000 workers as the company attempts to get back on track.

According to the Canadian publication The Globe and Mail, the firm will lay off 10% of its entire workforce as it prepares to cut costs.

This comes after two RIM executives were appointed this month, while the business showed off a new BlackBerry operating system, along with a new piece of hardware.

The publication reports the layoffs may even begin within the next two weeks.
