Research in Motion could be planning to add video call capabilities to its BlackBerry Messaging (BBM) service as part of BlackBerry 10.
According to CrackBerry, the latest BlackBerry 10 developer software update includes a folder called “bbm_video” which contains a ringtone called video_chat.m4a.
The file contains the ringtone used in RIM’s PlayBook video call feature.
The discovery has prompted renewed speculation the Canadian smartphone maker could include the long-rumoured feature as part of the BlackBerry 10 series of devices, which are expected to be released early next year after a series of delays.
