Nokia launches Music+ subscription music service for Lumia owners in Australia

Nokia has launched its Music+ subscription music service in Australia for its Windows 8-based Lumia smartphone owners.

The company says the new service allows users to download unlimited mixes to playback if they aren’t connected to the internet, opt for higher quality audio when connected through WiFi and listen to audio through internet-enabled PCs and tablets.

The Finnish mobile phone giant is offering users a free seven-day trial of the service, with the price increasing to $4.99 per month after the trial.

Users of a compatible smartphone, including the Lumia 920, 820 and 620, can download the service by selecting the ‘upgrade’ option from the main menu in Nokia Music.

However, Nokia’s new service faces increased competition, coming soon after the release of streaming radio app Pandora in the Windows Phone store.
