Apple will introduce a netbook at its January Macworld expo, according to a prediction made by an industry analyst.
Ezra Gottheil from TBR says the Macworld conference will see the introduction of an Apple netbook, as well as a device similar to the currently available MacBook Air. Netbooks are smaller laptop computers, which while less powerful than larger models, are cheaper and easier to transport
The lower priced netbook may offer web access and media player features, but Gottheil predicts the device will be supported through Apple’s App Store. The store would then offer content and applications exclusively for the device.
Offering a cheaper laptop option would be a dramatic move for Apple, which has built its reputation on providing quality computers at higher prices.
Another rumour from iDealsChina has it that Apple will reveal an iPhone Nano – a smaller, cheaper and less powerful version of its popular smartphone.
