Marc Edwards is the founder of Melbourne app studio Bjango, a successful creator of iOS and Mac apps. Living life on the web can be dangerous work – so Marc’s favourite piece of tech lets him handle his security in an easy way.
1Password is an app that allows users to maintain complex passwords across the internet without actually having to remember them. As Marc explains, it makes your passwords virtually impossible to crack.
“It sounds really mundane, and like something that wouldn’t be exciting, but it works. So whenever you’re in a generic sign-up form and you need to create an account with a password, you just hit the 1Password button and it generates a random password, a string of letters or numbers.”
“That password is then shared with all your devices, and it always remembers it. It works insanely well.”
“The other great thing is that it remembers serial numbers and non Mac App store software. All you have to remember is the code to unlock 1Password, which doesn’t even get shared with anything. It’s a great password manager.”
