Chris Ridd is the managing director of the Australian division of Xero, an online-based accounting software package. The company has been on the rise during the past two years, attempting to knock MYOB from its market throne.
His favourite piece of tech isn’t business related, but Ridd says it definitely helps him relax when he’s having some downtime.
“My best piece of tech won’t appeal to many, but it is a dream toy for any fellow time-poor and travelling guitar enthusiasts out there. Some months ago I downloaded Studio Devil’s ‘Guitar Amp’ application, which I absolutely love.”
“It offers an authentic sounding amplifier emulation and turns an iPad into a bona fide tube guitar amp with all the beautiful tone and drive of the real thing.”
“All you need is an iPad and I use a TASCAM iXZ Mic/Instrument input to connect the guitar lead into the iPad. It doesn’t replace the real thing but makes jamming on the run a breeze!”
