Production issues are delaying the wide-scale manufacturing of flexible display technology, according to Korean media reports.
According to TechRadar, the Korean language tech news website DDaily is reporting that a “senior industry official” claims problems with production yields are delaying the mass-production of flexible AMOLED displays.
According to industry sources, Samsung is currently aiming to resolve the issues by the end of this year, with mass production now expected to begin in early 2013.
If the issues can be resolved, consumers can expect smartphones and tablet devices using the displays to begin appearing next year.
