Most information technology professionals think their skills are hot and are planning to use them as a platform to change jobs in the months ahead, according to a new survey by IT recruitment firm Diversiti.
The study found that 72% of IT professionals consider their skill set makes them in demand in the job market, while 78% said they were planning to change or would consider changing jobs in the next 12 months.
And they’re not just talking out of the top of their hats. The majority of respondents to the survey said they changed jobs every 12 to 18 months, with 55% having worked for three or four different companies in the past five years.
The majority of respondents cited a desire for career progression as the main reason they would switch jobs.
