Google Play adds new service allowing businesses to distribute internal Android apps

Google has added a new feature to its Google Play store that allows businesses to distribute apps to employees through the service.

According to the announcement on Google’s enterprise blog, the Google Play Private Channel will allow company administrators to upload internal Android apps using the Google Play Developer Console.

Once internal apps are uploaded, users need to login with their work email account to be able to access the Google Play Private Channel and download the apps. The Private Channel, along with any internal apps it contains, won’t be accessible to the general public.

The company has also posted an update on its Apps Documentation and Support site detailing how businesses interested in using the new feature can setup an account.
