Google develops health check application after Gmail crash

After dealing with the massive failure of its online Gmail system, internet search engine giant Google has developed yet another application – the Google Apps Status Dashboard.

The application allows users to check the system health of its online services, including Gmail, Google Calendar and its online-based document editors.

Other online-based services such as Twitter and Windows Live have also implemented status updates of its applications to keep users in the loop.

The move follows the crash of Google’s Gmail services last week, when millions of users were left unable to communicate via email for several hours. Many parts of Europe were affected the most, with businesses relying on the Google Apps suite unable to conduct normal business activities.
