Facebook ads are more popular on mobile platforms than they are on desktops, according to a new report at TechCrunch.
The report claims Facebook’s Sponsored Stories are getting more than 13 times the click-through rates and earn 11.2 times the money per impression compared to desktop ads.
The data comes from TBG Digital, AdParlor, Nanigans and Spruce Media, along with three of Facebook’s advertising partners.
Sponsored Stories are links that appear in news feeds just like any other post. While users have reacted negatively to the change, the mobile ads appear to be producing a good return.
In its IPO prospectus, Facebook said it would need to focus on mobile advertising in order to stay competitive.
