Computing giant Dell has announced the company is investigating forms of wearable computing.
The revelation comes after Apple chief executive Tim Cook said last month his own company was watching the wearable computing market with “great interest”.
Dell global vice president of personal computing, Sam Burd, told The Guardian the company is “exploring ideas” in the field of wearable computing.
“There are challenges in cost and how to make it a really good experience,” Burd said. “But the piece that’s interesting is that computers are getting smaller. Having a watch on your wrist – that’s pretty interesting, pretty appealing.”
Google has spearheaded the most recent wearable computing initiatives with its Glass product.
