Asus is planning to simultaneously announce its second generation PadFone device in Milan and Taipei on October 16.
According to GSM Arena, in a note sent to tech journalists, the company is asking the tech press to “save the date” on October 16.
The news means that Asus is planning on unveiling the new device within months of the August 8 official Australian release date for the first-generation PadFone.
The PadFone is an Android smartphone that can be docked inside a 10.1 inch tablet known as the “PadFone Station”.
Asus also manufacture a keyboard dock that can be attached to the PadFone Station in a manner similar to an Asus Transformer tablet, allowing consumers to dock their PadFone smartphone in a PadFone Station tablet, and in turn dock their tablet on a laptop-style keyboard.
