Months after Google announced plans to create a pair of glasses that show users digital information, Apple has patented a similar project.
According to Apple Insider, the new patent covers “peripheral treatment for head mounted displays”.
The patent also specifically mentions display technology, and describes “methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for projecting a source image in a head-mounted display apparatus for a user”.
The patent application was originally filed in 2006, although it has only been this year that Google has sparked an interest in wearable computer displays.
