Online retail giant Amazon may be preparing a cheaper version of its Kindle Fire tablet, according to a new DigiTimes report.
The report claims Amazon is speaking with supply chain providers to create a new Kindle Fire, while the original will see its price pushed down to just $US150.
The new device will see its resolution boosted to 1280×800, while the report also claims Amazon has stopped production of a planned 8.9-inch model.
However, it says the company will still go ahead with its 10.1-inch model.
