The Audacity team has released Audacity 2.0, the first major upgrade of the open source audio editing suite since 2005.
The key feature of the new version is automatic crash recovery, allowing users to recover files after a crash.
The new version also includes upgrades to many audio effects (including vocal remover, equalization, noise removal and normalize), full FLAC audio support, and an improved user interface.
Audacity is a free and open source desktop audio editing suite similar to Adobe Audition and Avid ProTools. It is currently available for Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, and Unix PCs.
