Vodafone has announced that it intends to roll out 3G HSPA+ while competitors Telstra and Optus continue investing in “4G” LTE networks.
The company has also announced that it has lost over half a million customers during 2011, following a series of network difficulties.
Telstra first activated HSPA+ as part of its Next-G network back in 2008 and has since launched its “4G” LTE network, while Optus has announced that it is on track to launch its LTE network in April.
According to ZDNet, Vodafone has also announced that it is in the process of upgrading its towers to Huawei radio network access equipment, which will allow Vodafone to “switch on” an LTE upgrade at some point in the future.
