Microsoft has announced its the Consumer Preview build of its Windows 8 software has been downloaded more than one million times, after the build was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Spain.
On a post on the company’s Building Windows 8 Twitter account, a spokesperson said that “one million downloads of the consumer preview” had been recorded.
The new software can be used on both tablets and desktop computers, along with laptops, and introduces a new graphical style to help align the user interface with Microsoft’s other products, such as smartphones and the Xbox 360.
Although the consumer build of Windows 8 has been released, it is not the final version – that is set to be released later this year.
