Microsoft to Kinnect Windows 8 laptops

Microsoft have demonstrated prototype laptop and netbook computers that integrate Kinnect technology into the screen.

The prototypes, demonstrated to The Daily, appear to be Asus netbooks and laptops running Windows 8.

Kinnect is currently marketed as a motion sensing add-on for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 games console.

At CES, the company revealed that it planned to release a version of the device for desktop computers during the roll-out of Windows 8. However, this is the first time the technology has been demonstrated as part of a portable computer.

The company hopes that motion sensing technology becomes a popular alternative to using a mouse, keyboard, or touchscreen in the future.
