Telstra has finally launched the country’s first 4G network after releasing the country’s first 4G compatible phone, the HTC Velocity, yesterday.
Although the network has been operational for nearly four months now, the launch of the first phone now enables customers to actually use it.
The new 4G LTE network allows faster download speeds, capable of up to 40 megabits per second, along with an upload speed of up to 10 megabits. However, many variables will affect the speeds recorded by individual users.
Although the network isn’t very widespread so far, the telco has put a number of maps on its website where users can check if 4G is available in their area.
