Cyber Monday sales in the United States grew by 15% during the first half of the day, according to new figures released by IBM Benchmark.
Last year, Cyber Monday sales topped $US1 billion, with the day becoming the most popular day of the year for online shopping.
According to the figures, 7.37% of online purchases were made on a mobile device – PayPal also reported strong figures for its mobile platforms.
“IBM (Benchmark) is reporting very healthy online sales growth,” eMarketer principal analyst Jeffrey Grau told AFP. “Overall, it is certainly shaping up to be a good season.”
