Apple has released the iOS 5 software this morning, with users now able to download the update through iTunes and then apply it to their iOS devices.
The iOS update is a major upgrade, and brings an entirely new notifications system, a reminders feature, the ability to sync music over wireless networks and the ability to update the phone itself via wireless as well.
The update is designed to separate users from their computers, with Apple wanting to build a “PC free” culture of devices.
iOS 5 will also allow users to interact with iCloud, bringing a number of new features including the ability to store back-ups in the cloud, along with the ability to download previously purchased music.
Users will need to download the software first, and then apply it to their iOS devices.
