Former Yahoo chief executive Carol Bartz has resigned from the company’s board after being ousted from her position, despite saying she would initially stay on.
According to Bloomberg, Bartz has stepped down as of September 9, three days after being fired over the phone, according to a statement from Bartz.
Bartz’ resignation from the board comes after a volatile few years. Originally brought on to help the company fight against dominance from Google and Facebook, Bartz’ approach to business has been criticised.
Bartz took over from former chief executive Jerry Yang over fallout surrounding a potential deal with Microsoft.
