Microsoft is reaching out to WebOS developers who have no avenue to publish their programs after HP has discontinued the software.
The announcement comes after HP said it would be discontinuing the TouchPad tablet as well, erasing another iPad competitor from the market.
Brandon Watson from Microsoft tweeted that Microsoft would offer developers handsets, tools and training.
“Thank you so much for reaching out to the Windows Phone team to signal your interest in bringing your talents to our platform. To be honest, we didn’t expect this level of response, so we were caught a bit flatfooted,” he said in a follow up email, according to WPCentral.
“Consider this a first step in building a relationship with the Windows Phone team. We are psyched to have you aboard and to see what your imagination can do on the Windows Phone canvas.”
