Apple may not be ready to release its new Replay service that will allow users to download more than one copy of media files, CNET has reported.
The report comes after another rumour had indicated that Apple would be rolling out the feature over the next few weeks, but CNET says deals with movie studios haven’t been signed yet.
Sources have informed the publication that negotiations over the deals could continue for months, and that a launch “is not imminent”.
One of the problems associated with getting the service up and running is the so-called HBO window. HBO currently owns distribution rights for films for three studios, and retailers aren’t allowed to sell copies during a period of time after the film has been released.
