New reports suggest that Research In Motion is working on a set-top box designed to rival the Apple TV.
According to Boy Genius Report the box will work in a similar way to the Apple TV and will allow streaming from other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
The gadget will reportedly feature NetFlix and YouTube streaming.
RIM has not yet moved into the set-top box market and only recently moved into tablets with its PlayBook.
The announcement comes after rumours suggested that the Apple TV may get an update later this year with iOS 5, allowing Bluetooth connections and app support.
