Tech giant Apple is preparing a number of new product launches for the second half of the year, new reports have suggested, with a newly-designed iPhone 5 and even a dedicated television set up for release.
Although previous reports have suggested Apple is designing a television set based on the iOS platform, no confirmation has yet been made.
According to a report from Daily Tech, an Apple executive has said the company is working on a television set that would be based on the iOS platform. Apple apparently plans to include iTunes within these sets to compete with online streaming services such as Netflix.
However, the likelihood of such a product ever appearing seems in doubt – chief executive Steve Jobs has always said the Apple TV gadget is more of a “hobby”.
Meanwhile, a separate report from Boy Genius Report claims the iPhone 5 is coming this year, with a completely new design.
The report also claims that the device could be available as soon as August.
