The next version of the iPhone may feature curved glass across its front panel similar to the old-style iPod Nano, a new report from DigiTimes has predicted.
The report states that according to sources in Apple’s supply chain, glass-cutting machines have been purchased in order to form the customised cover.
“The glass slicing machines are currently being stored at associated assembly plants and will be brought online once yield rates for the production of curved glass reaches a satisfactory level, the sources revealed,” the report states.
The report also claims there is currently no timetable for the iPhone 5 production line, although reports suggest the device will be released in September.
