A new report from German blog Macerkopf claims Apple will be holding an event in early Apple to show off the iOS 5 software.
Apple has previously shown off new software products in early April – last year it held an iOS 4 event in the first few weeks of April, shortly before the launch of the iPad.
Not much is yet known about the iOS 5 software, but various reports claim it will show off a completely new notifications system.
Boy Genius Report points out Apple hired Rich Dellinger last year, who was responsible for the notification system on the WebOS software platform.
Other reports have claimed Apple will be showing off updates to the MobileMe, and even iTunes, platforms at an iOS 5 event.
