Internet giant Google is on the prowl for more acquisitions, with one executive saying the company will continue to be aggressive in the hunt for companies.
Vice president of corporate development David Lawee has told the Wall Street Journal the company is looking for start-ups that are doing new and interesting things.
While he says the current valuations of tech start-ups is “high… they reflect the real possibilities.”
“These are truly exciting times,” Lawee added. “If you’re an entrepreneur and you come to Google, your days as an entrepreneur are not over… Bringing small entrepreneurial teams into Google who have a strong vision for what they want to do has been highly successful for us.”
Start-ups are not only a lucrative source of ideas for Google, but they also provide the company with talented staff, even if their company’s idea doesn’t come to fruition as a Google-branded product.
