Sony has dropped some hints about the rumoured PlayStation phone, with chief executive Bert Nordberg saying a gadget may be in the works.
Nordberg, who is chief executive of Sony Ericsson, said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that “there’s a lot of smoke, and I tell you there must be a fire somewhere”.
“Sony has an extremely strong offering in the gaming market, and that’s very interesting,” he said in the interview.
The story suggests that the gadget would utilise a slide-out controller for playing games, and could even be announced in the first quarter of 2011. Rumours suggest it will run on the Android operating system.
