Tech giant Apple has said it will no longer produce the Xserve server technology from the beginning of next year.
In a statement on its website, the company said that customers wanting to upgrade existing Xserve technology will need to purchase either a Mac Mini or Mac Pro.
“Xserve will no longer be available after January 31, but we’ll continue to fully support it,” the company said.
“Mac Pro is a viable server alternative to Xserve except where the high-density 1U rackmount form factor is required.”
