Transferring videos onto your iPhone is probably one of the most frustrating tasks of the iOS experience.
As the iPhone only supports a handful of video types, users generally have to use third-party software to move their videos onto the gadget. But the VLC player attempts to work around that, allowing users to watch AVI video files with no conversion necessary.
From the same developers of the VLC software program, which is available for free download, the VLC iPhone app allows users to load AVI files onto the iPhone through iTunes, and then watch them.
While this means files aren’t converted into a smaller format and can be quite large, it’s also a hassle free experience as users simply have to drag and drop files into the iTunes summary screen in order for them to load.
It’s a free app, but rumours suggest Apple may be taking it off the iTunes Store soon. Act while you can.
