New figures from Strategy Analytics show Apple managed to control 95% of the tablet computing market with its iPad device during the third quarter.
The figures come as a variety of manufacturers are preparing to launch their own tablets, including Samsung, Telstra and Research In Motion.
“The tablet wars are up and running,” Strategy Analytics said in a statement.
“Apple’s iPad has jumpstarted the market and rapidly captured 95% global share during Q3 2010.”
The figures come after Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitemore noted last month that his own figures show Apple controls 25% of the PC market in the United States. This places the company ahead of rivals Dell and HP.
