A new computer virus being sent through email networks is damaging computers under the pretence of offering pornography videos.
Security McAfee Labs says the virus, named “Here You Have” attacks users running the Windows operating system, and uses the same line in the subject name of emails.
In those emails, users find links to websites offering PDF documents or movie files, but when clicked these are actually programs that will infect a computer and send emails to every person in that user’s address book.
“The worm is pretty active, and currently sending out significant amounts of mail,” security firm Kaspersky told Fairfax.
Users are being warned not to open the emails, and delete them as soon as they see them. Businesses should avoid opening attachments from users they do not recognise.
