The Commonwealth Bank has launched a new iPhone app that allows users to check out a house for sale by simply point their phone in its direction.
The app uses augmented reality to determine what house it is the user is looking at, and then looks up that house’s listing online based on GPS location data. Users receive information like how many bedrooms and bathrooms it has, along with pictures.
The bank says all the information contained in the app is publically available and registered on realestate.com.au.
iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 users will receive the full benefits of the app, while iPhone 3G users can access information but will lack some of the augmented reality features.
The app also includes a step-by-step buying guide, a repayment calculator and shortcuts to contact Commonwealth Bank financial planners.
