There are plenty of RSS readers on the App Store, and they all have their little quirks that make them stand out. But the Pulse reader has stood out among the better-designed RSS feeders.
The app, which is actually a spin-off of the iPad app designed by two Stanford students and praised by Steve Jobs himself, has just been approved by the iTunes Store. It allows users to view 20 of their RSS feeds in a grid format, with pictures pulled from each story to provide a colourful view.
Users scroll down to choose their feed, and scroll right and left to choose the news item they want to read. Different feeds can be added and customised, while the app itself can sync with Google Reader as well.
This is a memory-heavy app, so iPhone 3G users might experience some lag when updating their feeds. But for $3.99, this is one of the better RSS apps on the App Store.
